🕍 Bangkok is famous for its stunning temples, and a visit to the city wouldn’t be complete without experiencing some of them. Here are the absolute must-visit temples in Bangkok, often recommended to be seen together due to their proximity:
✅ Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) & The Grand Palace:

This is the most important and most visited temple in Bangkok, located within the sprawling Grand Palace complex. The highlight is the highly revered Emerald Buddha, a small but incredibly significant Buddha image carved from a block of jade. The entire complex is a dazzling display of intricate Thai architecture, gold leaf, and vibrant mosaics.
✅ Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha):

Located just next to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho is famous for its enormous 46-meter-long, 15-meter-high Reclining Buddha statue, covered in gold leaf. The soles of its feet are exquisitely inlaid with mother-of-pearl, depicting 108 auspicious images. Wat Pho is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, and you can even get a massage there.
✅ Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn):

Situated on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, almost directly opposite the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, Wat Arun is an iconic landmark. Its most striking feature is its central prang (tower), intricately decorated with colorful glazed ceramic tiles and porcelain. It’s especially beautiful at sunrise or sunset. You can easily reach it by taking a short ferry ride across the river.
